In lieu of class monday, steph & I had dinner at Mezcal then walked across the street to the ...And you Will Know us by the Trail of Dead show at the Bluebird. Midnight Masses opened the show and they were pretty cool. The next act up, Funeral Party, started with promise, but soon sounded very same-y. AYWKUBTTOD rose to the occasion and powered through their set. It was pretty crazy for a monday night - there was a pit, Midnight Masses joined onstage a couple of time for backing vox, and the lead singer shotgunned a beer before the encore. And then things got really crazy - a kid jumped onstage and just started dancing around before security got overzealous and 'removed' him. The band stopped playing and started everyone chanting, "Let him go!" Soon they invited everyone to join them onstage and even helped pull them up - a rousing 'Richter Scale Madness' ensued. Tuesday was a challenge.
