one day, maybe tuesday

We were all a bit shaken up here at the beach after m-80's tragic accident, and have certainly neglected our sworn duties to keep you up to date with goings ons and such. But after resigning ourselves to the fact that you shouldn't play with fireworks at the beach anyway, it's back to business as usual.

It was a busy holiday weekend, starting with a great turkey feast at the hillside terrace. A hike along mount sanitas, plenty of food, plenty of wine, jacq's nice cards, and an overtime broncos win made for quite the festive thanksgiving. Friday was the last tailgate of the season. Unfortunately CU suffered at the hands of Nebraska for an embarrasing loss. In a much more exciting game to watch (on the tele), ISU lost to kansas on saturday, so Cu still goes to the Big VII championship game against texas, where they will likely have their asses handed to them much like last year when they played against #2 oklahoma. But then again, it could be a huge upset like in 2001. We'll see.

Saturday brought the return of trey anastasio and his 70 volt parade, this time to the fillmore. We Q'ed out at robert's before hand, and met up with a good portion of the west coast acton contingent at the show. Horns were brought back into the fold on several tracks, courtesy of the lady back-up singers. And once again trey performed solo acoustic phish songs during the 'set break', some of which I haven't heard live in what seems like an eternity. Set:
