thickly vailed
Got out of work a bit early friday for our company xmas party over at one of the boss's huts. They had a nice spread of aps and some great chili. The only alcohol they had however was 3 bottles of well-aged scotch and a handle of crown, most all of which was consumed - pretty hardcore. After two glasses of scotch I needed to ease it back a bit. Luckily I discovered a cooler on the back patio in which all the ice had melted and then re-froze into a solid block encasing a bunch of dogfish head and coronas - I had to carve them out, but they were intact. The party was over pretty early and I came out of it with use of the vail condo that weekend - extremely convenient since we were planning on riding vail saturday anyway.
Bright and early saturday morning we all met at dylan's and took the greg & andy mobile to the mountains. We had fresh snow from the day/night before and most of the mountain was open. We rode all over, eventually making our way back to the Blue Sky Basin. It was a cold one with a high of 13 degrees, but it was clear. Our last run of the day we decided to hike the outer ridge of the basin which turned out to be quite difficult since the snow was so fresh and we kept sinking up to our shins/knees/waist with most steps. An hour later we reached the summit. After the grueling hike, the run down was so worth it - deep & untouched (that's what she said). After heading into town to stock up on brews & foods & woods, we played uno for several hours before passing out watching a movie. We were all kind of beat sunday morning so we had a relaxing breakfast thanks to steph, and then headed back before traffic.
