apple basin

Friday was casual, we got free burritos at chipotle thanks to my spending habits at liquor mart then went shopping at target for some tailgate supplies. Hit up the basin on saturday and once again it snowed all day. Not nearly as heavily as last week, and the sun even peaked out right before we left. The conditions were great, and the beach was in full rage mode. We narrowly averted a crisis with the new grill not staying lit, and the payoff burgers were, "ones that you will always remember, due to just the right mix of famine and atmosphere" (pv). It was a great day, and I even skied with the captain! Later that evening we had another bbq over at ian's place for the final four, and called it a pretty early night.

Went for a run up & around sanitas sunday morning while steph did homework, met up with the bisi's on pearl street for some coffee, then headed to the bluebird to check out the Apples in Stereo. Got the go-ahead from robert schneider to tape the last night of the tour which was a true family affair. The Apples hail from denver, and robert's little bro's band, baji, opened up the night, and plenty of friends & family were in attendance. The Apples were on point. Surprisingly I've never seen them before, and I was extremely satisfied with the performance. Have a listen here or here.

Wish i was there skiing with the captain. The season is over here but a brave few still like to ride on the mushy stuff. I will have to make it out there for the 08 season
