My google toolbar running on IE at work has blocked 10,000 pop ups as of today:
This may be a lot or not that many. I think most all of them came from cnn.com anyway.

I do at home, but I prefer not to have tabbed browsing at workitron, so I can have 'mystery' windows open when they stack up down in the taskbar...
