color commentary

Had a somewhat unexpected, but extremely enjoyable set of guests in town this weekend. Old family friends from france, currently residing in Brighton ENG, were in town visiting with my parents. Their son who, when I met him 14 years ago, went to the other school in Cannes, and not mine in Nice, came along for the stateside journey.

He joined the powder hounds as we made the trek to copper at 5.30 in the AM. Surprisingly good conditions on the backside of the hill, where we spent most of our day. Made good use of the natural 1/4 pipe cornice we stumbled upon, which also had a fun dropper off the top. Landings were thankfully soft as I tried to perfect some of my more rotationally themed tricks. Spent the last few runs in the 'enchanted forest' which rounded off a solid day on the slopes.

Later on, we all re-grouped before taking andrew out for our now trademarked stroll/stumble down death row©. Took it easy sunday watching the increasingly addictive winter olympic games, all the while doing the occasional dab of homework. But as usual, not quite enough studying was completed to alleviate my currently severe bout of last minute procrastination...
