Why is everything considered a bombscare these days?

Yesterday, three cd players blasting 'foul language' were found underneath church pews in Santa Fe during an ash wednesday mass. Two were blown up by the bombsquad, before they finally realized they should maybe hang on to the third cd player to dust for prints.
