still birth of slick

Ludacris and Kanye Pest won their copyright infringement suit last thursday after a jury decided that their song "Stand Up" had not borrowed lines from the New Jersey group I.O.F.'s (It's Only Family) song "Straight Like That." The premise of the
case focused on the phrase "like that," which is featured in both songs more than eighty times, preceded by "straight" in one and "just" in the other. This begs the question as to whether or not the Digable Planets are going to weigh in and try to cash in against all these clowns. And for that matter, Public Image Ltd. should raise objection that they all ripped of their tune which is straight up just called 'like that'.
